Be Productive! My Favorite Quarantine Activities

My Favorite Quarantine Activities

If you had told me in January that I'd have to be stuck in my 400 sf apartment for at least three months without the option to get drinks at the Horny Ram I would have chartered a jet to Mars (I cannot afford this but would have found a way). Don't get me wrong -- the thought of just drinking wine and playing video games all day sounds very appealing, but it gets old FAST. And working from home? Certainly a privilege I am very thankful for but also there is no escaping work. I find myself logged on at 8PM sending emails...when did I become this diligent?! In order to keep my sanity, I have started some new hobbies to occupy my head space, and I'm actually having a ton of fun. Keep reading to uncover my favorite quarantine activities!

Happy Hour: Watermelon Sugar

Happy Hour: Watermelon Sugar Cocktail

We all know I'm ride or die for Harry Styles, and his latest single "Watermelon Sugar" is obviously on repeat all day while I crank out proposals at work. Seeing as how it's now summer, and watermelon is finally in season, I figure it's the perfect time to break out my cocktail shaker and get mixing. I present to you: Watermelon Sugar, a vodka cocktail that is as refreshing as seeing Harry in a low-cut button down.

Slimming in the City: Getting Back on Track

To say I gained 10 lbs during quarantine is an understatement... I probably gained more like 20. At the office I could only snack if I brought something from home, and now that I'm at home I have an unlimited amount of snacks! Reality struck when I went to put on pants that weren't made of spandex and they were a tad (very) snug. With states reopening and the impending dread of having to eventually leave my house again, I decided it's time for a change. This week restarts my fitness journey and I'm excited to get back on track!

Glitz Guide: Dating During Quarantine

A week before the COVID-19 scare really took hold of NYC I had my first date with Harry*. We met on Le Bumble (my fancy way of saying the dating app Bumble...this works better in person and people think it's a fancy French wine bar) and talked for a week before meeting up. We instantly clicked, had great conversation, a hot make-out, and made tentative plans to get together the following week.

And then NYC issued a quarantine.

City Savvy: NYC Budget-Friendly Recipes

Saving money in the city is HARD! I'm always tempted to go out and meet my friends for lunch or dinner, but then I look at my credit card statement and cry. The solution? Making meals at home! But to be honest, even cooking at home can be expensive with NYC food prices. I usually try to only shop at Trader Joe's, Target, or Amazon Fresh to get the best bang for my buck (prices listed below will be reflective of that). Do I hate eating the same thing for more than two days? Yes. But do I hate spending money on pointless take-out even more? Hell yes. See some of my go-to budget friendly recipes below!
